Stardusters have existed since the dawn of time, but have only been recently spotted by humans, as they primarily inhabit higher dimensions, creating and maintaining their own realm tucked between the trials and triumphs of others. Stardusters can be easily confused with other species at the beginning of their conception, as their image boasts simple shapes, short legs and small wings, but they become more easily identifiable as they mature, collecting stardust along their journey and giving a second life to the remnants of supernovas as the sparkling material is absorbed by their skin and orbits around them. Stardusters are born during the death of stars under certain celestial conditions, those of which are still a mystery to astronomers and occultists alike. The more stardust a Starduster accumulates, the more they are protected from the impurities of the material world, allowing them to briefly manifest in physical form on Earth. Stardusters often develop new extremities that resemble the flora, fauna and funga of our realm and theirs. They like to collect fallen charms and hang them on their bodies, adorning themselves with both worldly wonders and the very fabric of the universe. Skeptics often attribute billowing leaf piles to sudden gusts of wind, failing to bear witness to the whimsy of passing Stardusters. While Stardusters can flap their wings, they are far too tiny to carry them through the density of the Earthly plane, thus rendering them terrestrial without the help of their ability to levitate. Stardusters possess a plethora of unique abilities which they use to protect their realm and companions from parasitic entities and engage in various forms of play, charming expressions on their faces all the while. Stardusters are not fond of most food offerings, but can be found munching on Hoya Bella flowers from time to time, squeaking delightfully with every bite. It can take some time for a Starduster to trust a human, but once they do, they tend to visit them frequently, their curiosity and boisterous nature sometimes leading them to take refuge in vessels crafted by their human comrades. These vessels can make the transition from their realm to ours a bit smoother, resulting in pleasant interactions, fond memories and lives that are changed forever. ♡
